Evgeny Plaksenkov graduated Cum Laude from Saint Petersburg University of Economics and Finance in Economic Cybernetics. He received his Executive MBA degree from the Higher School of Economics, DBA degree from International School of Business of Financial University, and PhD degree (Doctor of Philosophy in Project and Programme Management) from SKEMA Business School (grande école, France). He also studied at EMLYON Business School (then known as ESC Lyon), SDA Bocconi University, and Henley Management College.
During the 1990s, Evgeny developed and oversaw over 20 projects of corporatisation and privatisation for Russian companies. He worked as Director of Corporate Education Programmes at IMISP (International Management Institute of Saint Petersburg), HR Director at OTIS (Eastern Europe, Russia) and CFO and CEO of MIEL-Group. From 2004, he has served as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of several Russian and international companies.
Dr. Plaksenkov joined the SKOLKOVO team as a professor in June 2009, and has been included in the Top 50 Independent Directors by the Association of Independent Directors of Russia. He was nominated for the Aristos-2008 award in the CFO category, and in the same year placed highly in the Professional Services – Financial Director category of the Top 1000 Russian Managers ranking by the Association of Managers of Russia and Kommersant.
Evgeny currently works as a professor and researcher in the areas of strategy, finance, project and programme development. He is also engaged professionally in corporate governance, venture capital business, and consulting.
