Moscow, October 6, 2012. – On October 6 the SKOLKOVO Open Day under the motto, “The Day of Knowledge. The Day of “SKOlnik” took place on the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO Campus. In the beginning of the new academic year the SKOLKOVO business school has gathered its guests in order to share the latest news and as always has prepared an intensive programme so that everybody could spend an autumn Saturday with some use for himself.

The business education is assumed to respond to the market demands being a couple of steps ahead, and the SKOLKOVO business school as the place that unites leaders of the future demonstrates new facets of its one-of-a-kind approach to studying promptly reacting on changes and anticipating needs of its students. The Day of Knowledge at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO started with the open discussion “Winning the war for talent in emerging markets” guided by Sylvia Ann Hewlett, president of the Center for Talent Innovation, and Irina Prokhorova, Editor-in-chief of the «New Literary Observer» Publishing House, Сo-founder of the Mikhail Prokhorov Fund, Julia Demchenko, Head of the International Projects Department at 3M Russia, Alena Vladimirskaya, CEO of PRUFFI, leading expert in HR and online recruiting, Tatiana Olifirova, Deputy CEO of RT-Invest company, SKOLKOVO Executive MBA graduate, participated as well. The experts have discussed issues of search for and involvement of talented candidates, challenges of communication between employers and applicants, the state of a woman in the business world.

The day programme continued with numerous master classes held by acknowledged experts in different spheres. Gor Nakhapetyan, SKOLKOVO business school Founding partner, Managing Director of Sberbank CIB, has told the audience how to transform your own dreams into feasible projects and manage your own ideas. Dr. Pehong Chen is Chairman, President and CEO of BroadVision, has shared the secrets of successful creation and development of an online-business. Vanessa Seyman, SKOLKOVO visiting professor, professional negotiator and internationally recognized expert under the Israeli government, has told the listeners how to express your point of view correctly and persuasively in the course of negotiation of any level. SKOLKOVO visiting experts Andrei Movchan, CEO and Founder of the Third Rome company, and Sergey Nedoroslev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kaskol Managing Company, have discussed with the master class participants the algorithm of an independent project creation: from an idea to its implementation. Tatyana Scherban, SKOLKOVO visiting professor, top HR consultant and adviser on career development, has shared with listeners the rules of a successful presentation and provided them with useful advice applying which everybody would feel himself confident while appearing in public. Finally, Tatiana Tarasova, honored coach of the USSR and the RSFSR, consultant of the Russian Olympic National figure skating team, has held a master class on leadership and team work.

During the day guests of the SKOLKOVO business school Campus cold attend a really exclusive zone – SKOLKOVO test drive – where representative of all educational programmes, students, graduates and professors have been gathered together. The guests had an opportunity not only to get the detailed information about the business school educational products but to get a career consultation, assess their leadership and entrepreneurial potential and pass an express admission as well. SKOLKOVO students and graduates have spoken about their studying experience at the business school, their projects and achieved success.

Moreover, some interactive workshops and exhibitions took place on the Campus, they are: Brain Lab, “Touching the dark” from the “Dialogues in the dark” project, a photo exhibition from National Geographic, “Storm” by Alexei Alpatov and "Top management thinkers today" at the SKOLKOVO Library.

The evening went on with a music performance from Stilyagi Beat and the premiere of the animation film “Hoffmanniad”, after which the designers of the film have told the audience about its history, peculiarities of the animation art and answered all the questions.

The day of Knowledge has gathered more than 1000 guests, and each of them has found something interesting and educational for himself and got new experience!
